Stethoscope

Stethoscope is a medical instrument used to listen sounds generated within the body.  Stethoscope is commonly used to observe the heart beat, pulse rate, blood flow etc.

Stethoscope is derived from the greek words “Stethos”
meaning “Chest” and “Scope” meaning “Examination”.

Stethoscope is a part and parcel for the medical staff from doctors to nurses.

Stethoscope is made up of the following parts

1. Headset

2. Eartip and Eartube

3. Diaphragm

4. Stem

5. Tube

6. Chestpiece
